WID unites creative minds focused on scientific projects and ideas by generating novel combinations of academics and collaborations. Discovery Fellows complement the Institute’s vision to promote discoveries at the informatic interfaces of fields.

Discovery Fellows…

  • Bring new forms of academic excellence to the WID research community
  • Expand the research base of WID with novel projects and ideas
  • Engage with the WID community and strengthen its ties with the UW–Madison campus
  • Reach out to colleagues around the world and bring them to the Institute for collaborations, symposia and events
  • Help WID identify individuals and areas of extraordinary interest where the Institute is likely to have a significant impact on the future development of a field
