A Indigenous Language Table is designed to enable language learners to develop spoken language skills outside of the classroom, build community, strengthen language purpose, and normalize indigenous language with representation. Hosted by Enwejig and the Illuminating Discovery invite students, including former students and indigenous language learners who want to develop their skills, & members of the at-large community. Every month, WID presents a seminar in which two faculty or their delegates will present their research and how it connects with the WID theme of Resilience, Robustness, and Adaptability.
El Zoominario is a seminar series of scientific short talks (in English) given by Latinx in STEM. The goal is to increase visibility of Latinx people in STEM and inspire the next generation of Latinx scientists. The talks are meant to be accessible to the general audience.The talks are 15-20 minutes long of a scientific topic explained in accessible terms to a broad audience. At the end of the talk, the speaker chooses to share interesting facts about their Latinx culture.
