Apoorva grew up between Atlanta, GA and Bangalore, India. She moved to North Carolina for her Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. After graduating, she worked at Locus Biosciences, a phage therapy company where she explored alternatives to antibiotics by engineering bacteriophages with Cas3 nucleases. She is currently co-advised by Dr. Krishanu Saha and Dr. Bill Murphy. When she's not in the lab, she loves to read, hike and spend time with friends.
