John Yin: “Arrow In, Arrow Out: Rumination on the Origins of Life and Nurturing Research Collaborations”

John Yin, Systems Biology:

What is life? How did life emerge? How could one create conditions in the lab for something life-like to arise from chemistry and physics? This talk will take baby steps toward addressing these questions. At the same time, we will attempt during our lunch-time excursion to link:

  1. a key difference between home-made and store-bought cookies,
  2. target-guided single-pot combinatorial synthesis and selection for novel therapeutic discovery, and
  3. how to avoid scientific jargon.
