What do mystery, mayhem, and the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery have in common? The Writer-in-Residence Program, recently welcomed Kayla Cohen as a part of the Illuminating Discovery Hub at the Wisconsin Institute of Discovery. The residency is an opportunity for an up-and-coming writer to work among scientists while crafting a manuscript with scientific themes.

Dr. Handelsman is committed to fostering the future of women and underrepresented persons in STEM, promoting science to serve the public, and conducting groundbreaking research. As a plant pathologist and microbiologist, she has made vast contributions to scientific advancements in metagenomics, soil science, antibiotic discovery, and much more. In early December the International Screenwriters’ Association named Graf, Writer in Residence in WID's Science to Script program, to its Top 25 Screenwriters To Watch In 2021.
WID's Science to Script Writer in Residence, Michael Graf, had been named to the International Screenwriters’ Association's top 25 writers to watch.
Brilliant and Diverse Graduate Research Scholars (BADGRS), founded by graduate students at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (WID), is a discussion space for grad students, postdocs, and other trainees. They want to destigmatize conversations about mental health.
